• Test, service, and maintain diesel-powered fire pumps in accordance with New Zealand Standards and the Building Act, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Operate fire pumps weekly to confirm proper functionality, following NZ Standards and manufacturer instructions.
• Conduct fault diagnosis and undertake minor modifications or repairs necessary to resolve system issues.
• Test and maintain a variety of fire safety systems, including fire alarm systems, extinguishers, hose reels, fire blankets, and other related equipment, in accordance with relevant standards and company procedures.
• Complete annual testing, inspections, and maintenance of all fire safety equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all inspections, maintenance, and repairs in line with regulatory and company standards.

• Diesel engine servicing, fault finding, diagnostic, repair, transplant, installation, drive -line alignment, stern seal repair and installation
• Inspecting, testing and plumbing of ship systems, fire systems, fuel system, fresh water, grey water, domestic water, drainage, holding tanks and etc.
• Conducting Sea trial, PDC and Diagnostic work troubleshooting and condition reports
• Sourcing & installation of new parts and equipment
• Pressure testing of fuel and water tanks, valves, coolers and hydraulic components

• Inspecting, Servicing and repair shipboard machinery including hydraulic & pneumatic equipment, winches, lifting gear and pump sets.
• Inspecting and testing of fire systems, fuel system, fresh water system
• Sea trial, PDC and Diagnostic work - fault identification, troubleshooting & condition reporting.
• Sourcing & installation of new parts and equipment
• Pressure testing of valves and hydraulic components
• Load testing of winches and lifting equipment
• Provide brief reports & photographs of before and after maintenance completed.

• Oversees the shipping and delivery of materials and factory personnel.
• Managing the loading and unloading of trucks, setting up delivery routes and unloading of material (glasses)
• Manage inventory and maintain communications with other stakeholders in the shipping and delivery of merchandise.

Base Technical Officer – Maritime Police (Foreign Fishing Fleet Oversight, Port Safety & Environmental Protection)

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct inspections and audits of foreign fishing vessels to ensure safety, security, and environmental compliance (MARPOL, IMO).
• Oversee port state control activities to prevent IUU fishing.
• Investigate maritime incidents, including pollution, safety violations, and illegal fishing.
• Enforce environmental regulations on vessel discharges, ballast water, and waste disposal.
• Collaborate with authorities to ensure compliance with fisheries management and conservation measures.
• Develop and review inspection protocols and environmental management plans for foreign fishing fleets.
• Provide training to port and maritime police on regulation enforcement and environmental protection.
• Coordinate emergency responses to pollution or illegal fishing incidents.
• Promote sustainable fishing practices and environmental stewardship to maintain the port’s eco-friendly reputation.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in maritime enforcement, port safety, and environmental regulation, particularly concerning foreign fishing fleets.
• Knowledge of international fisheries treaties, port state control protocols, and environmental conventions.
• Strong analytical and investigative skills.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities with international and regional agencies

• A skilled Chief Engineer with expertise in operating, maintaining, and overhauling main propulsion engines and auxiliary systems. Experienced in managing Diesel Main Engines, Gearboxes, Propellers, Shafts, Rudders, and related machinery for optimal vessel performance and safety.
• Proficient in overseeing fuel, sea water, freshwater, fire, bilge, grey, and black water systems, as well as HVAC, refrigeration, ventilation, and hydraulic/steering systems.
• Responsible for planning routine maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and surveys to ensure machinery condition, performance, and safety compliance. Adept at developing preventive maintenance schedules to ensure vessel readiness.
• Strong leader capable of supervising engineering teams, coordinating repairs, and maintaining operational efficiency and safety standards.
