Skills

Leadership

  • Team lead a group of 15 security staff on the field at Super rugby games
  • I was co-captain for my high school 1st 15 team, which is the highest form of secondary school rugby in New Zealand
  • Being the Deputy Head Boy on my final year at high school also granted me a seat on the school council

Time Management

  • I like to schedule myself to leave 20 minutes earlier to create some allowance time for any unforeseeable circumstances that may arise, whether it's road blockage, traffic or lack or parking
  • Break down jobs or tasks so it's easier to see which area needs catering to first
  • Creating a schedule that works around what's important to me
  • Ensuring that I always make time to do something for myself, like getting to the gym at least four times a week

Problem solving

  • Being team leader of the on-field staff, I changed the seating arrangements so that they would be seated facing an angled position to have a better view of their area
  • Pushed to have a separate radio channel for the staff involved on the field so they're able to communicate efficiently without being interrupted by unnecessary chatter from other staff and management in different areas of the stadium

Communication

  • I have always competed in Sāmoan speech competitions during my school years (from year 6 to year 13) which are held regionally and then qualify for nationals Have always placed in the top three everytime I would go into nationals (1st, 2nd and/or 3rd)
  • I was involved in the highschool musical production in my final year, which I played one of the main roles, Chuck Cranston, in the musical Footloose
  • Being Deputy Head boy meant that I was to speak in front of the school on occasions, have meetings with the principal, as well as other neighbouring schools in the selwyn district

Leadership And Others

  • Been involved in various different sporting teams growing up and been in leadership positions through this course, including co-captaining in my last year of First-XV in high school.
  • During my last year of high school I also held a lead role in a Musical production our school produced. Partaking in this also allowed me to explore other areas, enabling me to attain skills which benefited my confidence as well as enthusiasm.
  • Deputy Head Boy: Lincoln High School 2016.
  • Lincoln High School Council 2016.
  • Samoan Speech Competition: I competed both local and qualified for national competitions from years 6-13 (2009-2016). Always placing either first, second or third throughout the years, and finished strong with first place in my final year.
  • Team lead in various security jobs: biggest role I had was being the team leader of the pitch team during rugby games which usually meant that I was in charge of about 20+ other workers.
