Swimming

For the better part of my childhood and teen years I have been a competitive swimmer. Training between 4-5 times per week for at least 2 hours each session, covering an average distance in that time of 4.5 to 7km. In the summer months trainings increased 8-10 sessions per week. Breaststroke is my stroke of choice followed by Butterfly. I really enjoy working on perfecting my techniques. I have competed at Club, Regional and National level. I have achieved many Gold, Silver and Bronze medals also making club records for my times in Breaststroke. Qualifying to swim at National level and to medal at any meet requires commitment to the sport, accountability, resilience, perseverance, endurance and determination. These are qualities I value and feel are most useful for all aspects of life.
