Wellington Regional Hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a high-acuity Level 3 facility with a 46-bed capacity, serving as a regional referral centre for critically ill newborns across the central region. The unit provides advanced neonatal care for infants born as early as 23 weeks gestation, term infants with complex medical or surgical needs, and those requiring multi-specialty care involving surgery, genetics, and metabolic services. The NICU is equipped to deliver intensive, high-dependency, and specialist support, ensuring comprehensive care across the full spectrum of neonatal conditions.
NICU – Burjeel Medical City, Abu Dhabi Duties & Responsibilities:
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Burjeel Medical City is a Level 3 NICU with a 30-bed capacity, designed to deliver comprehensive care to critically ill and extremely preterm neonates. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the unit provides advanced neonatal services including mechanical ventilation, high-frequency oscillatory ventilation, inhaled nitric oxide therapy, and therapeutic hypothermia. The NICU handles complex neonatal cases, including surgical and multi-system conditions, in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams across the hospital.
