Summary

Health, wellness and how the body works, has always been a passion of mine. Initially pursuing a career in exercise science then a pivot into Nursing, I’ve been motivated by the challenges of nursing, I love being part of a team, I thrive on delivering quality care to my patients and I enjoy building a great rapport within the clinical and community setting.

My career path always finds me back in the acute care setting where I enjoy challenging my clinical assessment skills under pressure and resolving challenges quickly. I have worked in and around this setting for most of my career.

I consider myself to have excellent interpersonal skills and I believe that listening is a vital tool in assessing patients requirements, especially where my assessment approach may vary depending on cultural needs.

My current role with Asthma NZ has provided amazing flexibility whilst being a mother of two busy boys. My husband now has the ability to step in and allow me to take on a more engaging role, that potentially combines my overall skillset.
