  • Whist still achieving my individual targets as a recruitment consultant, I was given the added responsibility of leading the sales team division and overall accountability for its performance
  • At full head count, the team consists of myself and two other recruiters
  • There was some cross over however when two left for overseas, so for a period of two months I had 4 direct reports
  • Responsibilities include:
  • Reporting to the directors on forecasting on sales performance
  • Leading my team of 3 to deliver to quarterly targets of $325K (2023 results to date: $415K achieved Q1, $395K achieved Q2)
  • Motivating and supporting the team
  • Training new consultants
  • Conducting weekly meetings for brainstorming and candidate sharing
  • Ensuring the division has enough exclusive work for a healthy pipeline and targets achieved – this includes business development through cold calling and networking, maximisation of key clients and liaison with the directors around new business strategies
  • Key Achievements:
  • Achieved 2nd best individual sales results FY 2022 ($627K) out of 15 recruiters companywide
  • Led my team from least performing in Q1 2022 when I took over to the top performing currently out of 3 divisions
  • Sourced, employed, and successfully trained three new consultants
  • One who had no prior recruitment experience and was ultimately promoted internally
  • Another achieved sales of $79K in her 3rd month
  • Consistently securing new work for both my division and others

Recruitment Consultant

  • Full 360 ownership of the recruitment process
  • Recruiting sales, marketing, and executive level roles with salaries ranging from $80K to $210K
  • Searching, shoulder tapping, interviewing, presenting, client and candidate liaison through to close
  • Consulting with hiring managers and C-suite decision makers
  • Achieving an individual monthly sales target of $35K minimum
  • Sourcing and securing exclusive job orders and new clients – including negotiation of preferred supplier agreements
  • Ensuring top customer service and delivery leading to repeat business

  • In this role I was responsible for providing administration management and support to the wider business, which at the time consisted of 5 recruiters
  • I also got the opportunity to observe recruitment and what it’s all about
  • I was given my first role which I successfully placed
  • After one year as the Office Manager, I was promoted to recruitment consultant
  • During the transition, I successfully recruited my replacement for office manager – this hire is still with the company today and has grown with the business to Operations Manager with 2 direct reports.

Business Development Representative

  • Sales calls to builders, architects, engineers and estimators
  • Arranging meetings for the sales representatives with potential and existing customers
  • Monitoring the progression/stages of a range of construction projects and keeping up to date with new developments across New Zealand
  • Reading construction drawings and doing take offs to identify quoting opportunities
  • Problem solving when orders came in for OOS products – this involved liaising with multiple global suppliers and comparing cost and freight pricing, ultimately providing solutions for budgets and deadlines
  • Quoting customers, both end users and resellers
  • Retaining and developing comprehensive product knowledge – also keeping up to date with New Zealand Building codes relating to ACO products
  • Analyzing data and sending out weekly sales tracking and forecasting reports to the wider business
