At Highview stud my main role is to manage the race horse team. I ensure they are looked after properly by managing feed, health, vet, and farrier work and that it gets organised and carried out. I also carry out daily yard tasks such as skipping out stables, tacking and untacking the horses, washing off, covering, feeding, bandaging, medicating ect.
As a receptionist my main roles were ‘front of house’, the friendly face clients got to see upon entering the clinic. I was tasked with answering phone calls, booking appointment, replying to emails, selling products, ordering and unpacking stock, triage incoming patients and other general administration tasks.
As a veterinary nurse I rotated between surgical, hospital, prep and consult nurse. Where I would care for my patients and aid other staff in veterinary nursing tasks. I monitored anaesthesia, critical ICU patients, treated isolation patients such as parvo cases, placed IVC, took blood, ran labs, sterilised equipment ect.
Worked both independently and collaboratively in a faced paced environment to provide the best care for all patients and clients. I participated in making sure the team was running effectively and efficiently by using critical thinking and initiative. Hospital, prep nurse and general animal husbandry were my main roles but I also floated around and went where I was needed
