Educate patients on medical and surgical procedures. Records patients' medical information and vital signs. Provide bedside care for a wide variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery patients. Maintenance of good nurse patient relationship including orientation and patient family education. Pain Management Providing basic patient care, administering medications Maintains unit stock/consumables, crash cart stock, in accordance with facility policy on medication expiry dates and safe location of consumable items. Maintains and adheres to patient confidentiality at all times. Record all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner. Attending several workshops and seminars, in order to improve the work efficiency. Participates in all aspects of the International Accreditation program to assist to attain and maintain international accreditation standards. Nursing documentation in a brief accurate and complete manner ROUTINE FUNCTION Admission and Discharge of the patient Monitoring vital sings Giving medications (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV) Giving sponge bath, bed making, oral hygiene and personal hygiene including assist in Activities of daily living. Checking blood gas analysis Suctioning Transfusion of intra venous fluids and blood transfusion Dressing of wounds Assist in type of procedures like intubation, lumbar puncture, pleural tapping, Paracentesis, minor stitches and sutures, bone marrow aspirations etc. Insertion of peripheral lines. Assist in Platelet Rich Plasma Procedure. Assist in Aspiration of Synovial Fluid. Initiation and Maintenance of Oxygen Therapy Urinary Catheterization Withdrawing of blood samples from peripheral line and arteries Insertion of nasogastric/ Ryles tube Giving enemas/ Lavage Active and passive exercises to the patients Giving Ryles tube feed Chest physiotherapy/ postural drainage Taking care of chest tube/ under water seal Taking Care of patients with burns. Care of pressure sore (E.g., Frequent Back care & positioning) Use of Isolation and universal Precaution
