Lead the implementation of the new organisation structure - Finance workstreams:

• Develop new cost centre hierarchy that aligns with the principles of the new structure to enable Department to achieve its strategic outcomes.
• Budget and funding realignment to ensure appropriate reallocation of funding that is consistent with the new structure.
• Personnel and cost centre mapping to ensure people are funded by the right cost centres.
• Cost allocation to ensure external reporting is aligned with the new structure and the Department's strategic outcomes
• Data and reporting - to ensure seamless data transition when the new structure goes live, while maintaining the ability to track historical trend and internal planning, monitoring and reporting.

• Play a key role in the Analytics team, helping to build and deliver on the strategic direction of the team.
• Oversee end-to-end execution and delivery of data and analytics projects including data strategy and data governance.
• Deliver the analytical component of larger engagements.
• Work closely with clients to build relationships and to identify and understand the problems they face and develop appropriate solutions.
• Coach and mentor team members to grow their non-technical skills.
• Work with the greater PwC Consulting practice on a range of large scale transformation programs, where you will be providing a specialist data and analytics lens to key client problems.
• Build relationships across PwC to identify opportunities in the market and to develop internal capabilities.
  

• Lead the development and continuous improvement of processes, tools and frameworks within the Finance team.
• Promotes business improvements that will streamline business processes, reduce costs and enable efficiencies.
• Work closely with teams across finance to review the necessary business and technical documents and ensure that they accurately reflect the agreed business requirements.
• Create, develop and maintain reports, methodology and analysis to identify, capture and analyse the relevant information and data to produce insights in the Department's reporting.
• Identifies opportunities and potential risks and issues to increase Finance data and analytics capability and to improve data accuracy.
• Design, develop, maintain and document data dictionary/meta data.
• Develop financial and non-financial models to support more sophisticated planning including Enterprise Planning, Operational Capacity and Service Delivery workstreams.

• Work closely with senior management, the strategic policy function and business teams in the wider Ministry along with officials from the New Zealand Treasury and Minister of Justice's Office in coordinating and supporting the development of the government's annual Budget package for Vote Justice, Courts and Treaty.
• Develop and deliver Ministry-wide process, tools, templates and other guidance materials to help support developing the Annual Budget Package for Vote Justice, Courts and Treaty.
• Provide strategic financial advice to senior management and businesses to support evidence-based financial and investment decisions and understand medium and long term, opportunities and risks, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Support the Ministry's strategy by enabling effective resource allocation and prioritisation.
• Analyse financial and non-financial data and translate this into high quality performance and management information for senior managers.
• Design, build and develop the Ministry baseline view to better understand how baseline funding is being used and inform decisions on where spending can add most value.
• Develop effective analysis tools, including development of models to support the Ministry's Long-Term Investment Plan and four-year plans.
• Draft and provide advice on Cabinet papers, briefing papers, memos and responses to Official Information Act, Parliamentary questions and Select Committee requests.
  

• Provide advice to New Zealand Treasury officials, New Zealand Ministers and Members of Parliament on the implications of tax and social policy forecasts and proposals.
• Influence and engage with key stakeholders through the provision of high-quality information and expert advice that is readily accessible, robust and addresses issues through effective risk mitigation.
• Forecasting New Zealand Government taxation revenue and expenditure on social policy expenditure administered by Inland Revenue.
• Estimation of the revenue/fiscal implication tax policy and social expenditure proposals, utilising taxation, micro/macro-economic data and other relevant data.
• Develop and maintain financial, economic or simulation models using appropriate statistical testing and methods.
• Develop and maintain microeconomics or macroeconomic models to assess the implications of tax policy proposals.
• Develop and maintain SAS programs to analyse Inland Revenue data and to create and maintain financial models as required.
• Monitor forecasts against monthly actual outcomes, commenting on any divergence in a report to the Minister of Revenue.
• Undertake wider research for matters being developed to address long term tax policy issues and to support empirical evidence-based policy development.

• Assist in preparation of actuarial funding valuations, accounting valuations, and other recurring basic actuarial valuation and compliance work for qualified retirement plans of assigned clients
