Leadership & Involvement: I am part of the Civil Engineering Society committee at the University of Canterbury in a media role, where I help promote events and engage with students through social media and communications This position has strengthened my creativity, organisation, and ability to work collaboratively within a team to meet deadlines and coordinate successful events It has also developed my communication and leadership skills by requiring me to engage with students, sponsors, and industry professionals in a professional and approachable manner
Fitness & Recreation: I maintain an active lifestyle through rowing whenever my schedule allows Rowing has strengthened my discipline, resilience, and ability to work effectively within a team environment, as success relies heavily on communication, trust, and consistency It has also taught me the importance of commitment and performing under pressure, skills that are highly valuable within engineering projects and collaborative workplace environments
Music: I currently serve as the second seat euphonium player for the Rolleston Brass Band, a role I take great pride in Being part of a band has developed my teamwork, focus, and attention to detail, as well as my ability to listen carefully and contribute effectively within a group setting It has also strengthened my time management and self discipline through balancing rehearsals, performances, work, and university commitments
