Machine Learning for Optimisation of 3D Printing Processes

University of Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand

  • Applied machine learning and data analysis techniques to determine the correlation between printing variables on 3D printing time and material usage.
  • Collected and analysed thousands of data points from real objects, which were used to investigate both printer settings and novel characteristics of the model such as complexity and orientation.
  • Built predictive models that are capable of estimating printing outcomes of new models, with applications in industrial settings.
