- Main role was a presser. Part of a 3 man team using a large hydraulic, computerized press. Pressing 400/500kg wool bales for export. Health and safety and communication was essential. Also working hydraulic core sampler, NIRA computer and keeping records of test for customer. Working sorting floor involved a great deal of team work, troubleshooting and hard work. Learning wool types, grading wool for different machines. Machines included hoppers. decoters. short wool. Metal detectors. Conveyors. And the floors computer to run all machines to at a speed to get required wool blend for customer. A lot cleaning, forklift operation (clamps, forks, claws)

- My years at Silver fern farms. March line floor (grading lamb, hoggett carcases) into order. Bulk packing boxes for orders. DCM mince machine operator, knife hand (trimmer). Sawman cutting to spec. Commercial cleaning (factory food production) Also spent slot of overtime helping out the opposite shift, as I worked nightshift and would often help out day shift and also nightshift in the freezers (dispatch). Was no stranger to overtime. Chased it! In my last year at Silverferns I had become a member on the ERT (emergency response team)
