Summary
I have spent the last 15 years working in the medical field both as a Physiotherapist and a Paramedic. During those years on the road I have shown that I can make critical decisions under pressure, adapt treatment plans in response to a changing environment and work independently and as a team. The last three years on the road as an Intensive Care Paramedic has given the opportunity to develop the skills of independently making life saving decisions when backing up junior crews for the most critically ill patients, while maintaining a calm persona to get the best out of my junior staff. After 11 years of frontline work I decided to take a break from the shift work to work on my physical and mental health. For the last year I have been working as a Trainee Phlebotomist at Wellington SCL, while working casual shifts as an Intensive Care Paramedic for the companies Medics On Scene and Promed. This time has given me the peace I needed to make some life decisions and I'm excited about returning to Intensive Care Paramedic forms of work. Now that I am registered, I am aware there is scope for IPC's to possibly assist in in branches of medicine outside of frontline ambulance and this is what I am interested in for the future

Additional Information
Providing or learning how to provide excellent healthcare has been the subset of my life for the last 25 years. I was married to my ICP wife for 12 years and eventually due to workload and lack of home life, this marriage has sadly come to an end. Now I have some free time while working for Wellington SCL I have been able to take up the lifelong wish to learn the violin. I have also started 2022 with a fresh slate and a new me by biting the bullet and going to the gym. Something I never thought I would like but is actually quite therapeutic. I have two gorgeous daughters Caitlin 9 and Lexie 5, who do very well at keeping me on my toes when I'm with them and they are the love of my life.
The break from frontline ambulance work has been a tonic and I am rested and keen to get back to more involved patient care. I would be very keen to contribute to the team for the extended care trial and beyond and look forward to discussing it more with you
