I have recently moved home to NZ after a few months of working for Perth Wildlife Encounters. Where I was a guide for the swim with wild dolphins and sea lion tours.
I was fortunate enough to take customers in the water with underwater scooters, getting them up close to wild dolphins. I Also would lead snorkel tours where we would swim with wild sea lions playing around the reef and also provide knowledge of marine life throughout the snorkel. Making sure everyone is safe and to approach each encounter with caution and respect.
The most fulfilling part of being a in water guide has been the privilege of being able to educate people on the ocean and marine life. Being able to be in the water around the wildlife makes every day unique, sharing that with others has been very rewarding. Learning everyday from the wildlife and other crew members has allowed me to further my knowledge with these species and other marine life in the marine park.
I love being apart of a awesome crew and meeting amazing people every day.
I am hard working, self motivated and reliable.
I love seeing others experience new things and helping others overcome obstacles. I am good at using my initiative and helping out other team members. I can work independently and also enjoy being apart of a crew who all share a love and passion for the ocean.
I was apart of a team where i operated on a few different boats and tours. The main one was being a guide on the 'swim with wild dolphins' tour and 'Swim with wild Sea Lions.' Where my role consisted of:
Other boats that I worked on was the ferry and the glass bottom boat cruise.
On both boats my job was to tie ropes onto the jetty, securing the vessel to the skippers instructions. Load gangways for passengers to board the boat. Checking people on and off and filling out the log book. On the Glass bottom boat tour I would provide information about the bay, history, all the marine life and wildlife around the marine park.
During working at Perth Wildlife Encounters I also completed my ESS (Elemental of Safety Shipboard skillset) course to further my education and safety on boats.
Also completed First Aid training with Surf Life Saving WA which consisted of:
Before working in WA I was working as a Scuba Dive instructor in Tauranga NZ. Where I completed a year of studying at Dive Zone and was employed at the end of my instruction. Where I then got to dive straight into the job as a Scuba instructor, working from the very entrance level children (8-10yo) all the way to adults doing their scuba courses.
I also am a Specialty instructor and have taught a range of these courses.
Working at Dive Zone I have been very fortunate to have been trained all the way up to Master Scuba Diver Trainer, where I was able to successfully teach my own class of Divemaster students. Also helped out in the shop as a retail assistant along side a store manager and the other staff members.

I have also done my air fillers course.
