When my mother worked at Auckland City Mission i helped there alot.
I taught a lot of Waiata to the Waiata group.
Helped many with Te Reo Maori mihi.
Helped serve sausage sizzles.
Sang with the Street Whanau Choir.
I was very close with Te Tapui Atawhai.
Well i paddle each year with the Waka fleet at Waitangi.
I paddle on a small Waka Tete named Te Whanau Moana, Te Whanau Moana is the lead Wahine Waka which means we carry the mana of every other Waka Tete.
I have been paddling on Te Whanau Moana for about 9 Years, since i was about seven years old, My Whanau are very connected to Waka and always have been.
My Papa is the Kaihautu of Ngatokimatawhaorua, My Aunty is the Kaihautu of Te Whanau Moana which is how i got hooked into this Kaupapa Tapu.
I am next in line to become Kaihautu of Te Whanau Moana.
