Taisia Pole

As a dedicated educator at the Missionary Training Centre (MTC) for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I have developed strong skills in communication, leadership, and cross-cultural understanding. In this role, I teach, mentor, and support individuals from diverse backgrounds, preparing them for significant roles in religious and community service. My responsibilities include delivering complex subject matter in a clear, engaging way, managing group dynamics, and fostering an environment conducive to personal and academic growth. This experience has honed my ability to adapt my teaching methods to suit varying learning styles, making me an effective and compassionate educator. Additionally, my time at the MTC has reinforced my commitment to lifelong learning, as I continually seek to improve my own knowledge base and teaching strategies to better serve my students.

In addition to my teaching role, I bring a strong background in sales and customer service from my previous position as a Sales Representative at The Warehouse Group. This role provided me with valuable experience in client relationship management, problem-solving, and sales strategy development. Working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment, I developed strong organizational and interpersonal skills while engaging with a wide range of customers. I successfully met sales targets, contributed to team goals, and learned how to analyze customer needs and deliver tailored solutions. My experience in this dynamic field has fostered a proactive approach to challenges, a results-driven mindset, and an ability to thrive in team settings—all of which I believe will be assets in my future academic and professional pursuits.

The combination of my teaching experience at the MTC and my background in sales has instilled in me a passion for understanding human behavior, fostering relationships, and adapting to diverse challenges. These skills will be invaluable in my pursuit of higher education and in my long-term career goals, particularly in fields that emphasize communication, leadership, and problem-solving. I am eager to apply these experiences as I transition into university studies and look forward to contributing to the academic community at the University of Auckland.
