MAIN DUTIES AND OUTCOMES

  • Assist with the conducting regular inspections of businesses who have workers to ensure compliance with the Employment Act including wages, work health and safety, work conditions, contracts and discrimination.
  • Impose penalties using the power of the Employment Act when there is non-compliance.
  • Report non-compliance matters to the Commissioner of Labour immediately following the inspection.
  • Assist with registering interested potential applicants for screening and assessing by the Labour Committee (LC)
  • Assist in entering applications into the work ready pool database
  • Contact all selected applicants to start processing visas and travel arrangement.
  • Assist with pre-departure orientation briefings and de-briefings on return and write up reports for Head of Department.
  • Assist in providing ongoing assistance to seasonal workers throughout the working contract.
  • Provide information of the scheme potential applicants and take receipt of registration forms.
  • Assist in screening of all registration forms to ensure all information is correct prior to sending to immigration of New Zealand (INZ)
  • Liaise with the INZ in relation to additional requirements and or other registration matters.

MAIN DUTIES ANS OUTCOMES


  • Report daily to the Labour Officer.
  • Keep up with the daily requirements of the Office.
  • Monitor the daily operation of the RSE ( Recognised Seasonal Employer) Scheme and also the PALM (Pacific Australia Labour Program).
  • Work and liaise closely with the seasonal employers both in the RSE Scheme and the PALM Program.
  • Assist in the management of the Seasonal programs for New Zealand and Australia.
  • Ensure screening, registration and recruitment and aligned with the policy.

  • Ensure all seasonal dates are kept confidential at all times and provide quarterly reports to the Labour Officer on the progress of the programs.

  • Ensure all workers are screened and the best are taken into the WRP (Work Ready Pool).
  • Responsible for keeping all documentation of all workers, such as passports, copies of visas, Health insurances etc
