I am currently working as a Centre Manager at Akaiti Mangarongaro based in Mangere, Auckland New Zealand.

Management and Administration
My role as centre manager focuses on the development and implementation of management systems that help create positive conditions for staff, tamariki (children) and hanau (families) to work effectively together ensuring a measure of consistency in approach and action across the Service. Enusuring the philosophy, vision, goals and systems promote positive learning outcomes for all our tamariki.
Leadership
Provide leadership at all levels that ensure positive outcomes for tamariki. Demonstrate good educational leadership that is centred around our tamariki, puhapi (teachers) hanau and the wider community that focuses on making a difference to the learning and well-being of our tamariki.
Curriculum
Promoting quality learning and teaching of the early childhood curriculum Te Whariki. Build and support professional practice to enhance our tamariki's learning environment that contributes to positive learning outcomes for al children.
Relationships
Develop positive realationships with all key stakeholders and collaborative ways of working. Strengthen partnerships and networks to achieve positive outcomes for all tamariki. Work with parents and hanau on home-service partnerships that ensure all tamariki are welcome and there learning needs addressed. Enable tamariki's learning and development through relationships and interactions, which are responsive, positive and encouraging. Respect and acknowledge the aspirations of hanau, working collaboratively with teaching team to review and evaluate learning and teaching practices.
Environment
Providing a respectful and positive learning environment which supports the philosophy and the provision of meaningful curriculum. Rich in play, rich in experience and rich in teaching. Environments provide multiple sources of stimulation to encourage the principles and strands of the curriculum and extends tamariki's learning.
Health and Safety
To take steps to promote the health and safety of tamariki, puhapi, hanau visitors and myself. Ensuring the Service and equipment is maintained in good repair and rooms always clean and tidy. Ensure effective and consistent implementation of policies, procedures, and supervision to ensure that tamariki are kept safe and feel secure within a safe environment, where syptoms of danger or abuse are promptly recognised.
