• Physical inspection of hammer and screwdriver probing.

• Underground, overhead cables and distribution points maintaining and installing
• Maintaining and installing services from distribution points to customer premises

• Worked on a backbone fibre installation project in Zambia working for Communications For Africa as a fibre splicing specialist and promoted to Chief fibre specialist in October. Work entailed:
• Testing of fibre cables, 48 and 96 core armoured single mode cables, in storage facilities for faults before taken out for installing
• Overseeing digger drivers trenching along routes, depth 1.6m
• Overseeing of delivery of cables to installing sites
• Fibre cable hauling into open trenches
• Overseeing backfilling of trenches, ascertaining specs of depths for earth wire to be used as locator for route and warning tapes as per project specifications
• Overseeing of erection of manholes along routes
• Fibre splicing in manholes and Exchange ODFs
• Final testing with OTDR testers of link before commissioning of finished link
• Saving of OTDR tests as both soft and hard copies for Main Contractor
