Summary

Due to an unorthodox early life resulting in limited academic education, over the last 15 years I have carved out a diverse, rich career in my chosen field. I am extremely passionate about what I do, and have gone after it with voracity. I see the world through a hugely creative lens, and I'm highly capable, and because of this I have a wide-ranging set of skills. I believe there's an answer to every problem, and a different way of tackling every need, if only we look at all sides of the the sphere. I love to tell the stories of brands through marketing, communication, video, content and concepts. Everybody has an interesting story to tell, if only we listen carefully enough.

Branding & Salon Experience Manager

  • Development and execution in conjunction with Directors of three year, multi-level, multi-location branding and marketing strategy, covering all elements of salon and brand experience
  • Development of a central brand guide, including development of brand voice and tone guidelines for website, video, articles, news releases and social media
  • This has included all content for social media platforms over the last 5 years, with an average of 1-3 posts per day of original content
  • Growing brand social media from 3k to current 43k through brand voice, engagement and content strategy
  • Development of internal weekly 'competitions' designed to generate organic hairdressing content from our salon staff
  • Moving the brand completely away from inorganic, stock image use to salon generated, organic content on all hair related imagery
  • Continuous analysis of market trends to identify client interests for marketing and content writing purposes
  • Co-managed social media accounts (with a graphic designer) to maintain consistent brand voice and increase audience engagement, with regular, hands-on adjustments
  • Writing extensive content for magazine and newspaper articles over 6 years, including NZ Woman's Weekly, Headway Magazine and nationwide newspaper publications, ranging from interview, product and brand pieces
  • Developed engaging blog posts highlighting company news, industry trends, and features of products or services
  • Video production including interviewing, script writing, editing, producing and directing video content used by Vivo across a multitude of platforms, including social media, internal training, education, expo and traditional television

  • Development and pitch of concept, and then execution, of rebrand from Vivo Beauty to Vivo Skin Clinic. This was after identifying a need to make the beauty side of Vivo more bespoke and high-end

  • Represented the brand at two Goldwell Colorzoom events in Austria and Amsterdam in a team management capacity

  • Development of overall 'client experience' strategy implemented so that every salon will ultimately achieve a high-end experience including in each physical location (85 nationwide)
  • Solely organizing high-end salon renovations across NZ, including the creation of all bespoke cabinetry design concepts.
  • Management of multiple tradespeople, mall communications and staff relocations during salon renovations (ongoing)
  • Solely responsible for organizing and employing tradespeople for renovations, and managing quotes/budgets for each location
  • Design, purchase and styling of multiple 'refurbishments' at other salon locations, creating a cohesive 'feel' to each salon atmosphere through the use of furniture and other interior design styling
  • Managing a monthly budget for the use of salon refurbishments
  • Coordinating with Regional Managers nationwide as to the physical needs of their salon presentation
  • Sole developer of internal social responsibility programme, where the business gives back to a wide range of charities and organisations, with ongoing relationship agreements with The Aunties, Sweet Louise, Shave for a Cure and Rainbow Youth
