Terry Wheeler

In June 2019, I transitioned to a Network Asset Inspector role at NPDC. As an inspector, I was responsible for identifying and grading network issues and faults. I collaborated closely with the Urban Engineer (NPDC) on local projects, learning how to deliver these projects while fulfilling my inspector duties. Additionally, I gained skills as an Engineer Representative for NPDC Street Lights and Signal contracts, overseeing claims, forward work programs, and Contractor Health & Safety.

I was later promoted to a Contracts Engineer/Manager for Improvements. In this role, I have successfully managed various projects in our district with excellent results, including the recent completion of the Kurapete Windsor Walkway.

Utilisation of Pocket RAMM and RAMM Contractor, developing a strong trusted relationship with clients, stakeholders, and supply chain partners. My responsibilities included supervising urban concrete maintenance projects, managing time effectively, and demonstrating leadership.

My journey began in 2008 with Civil Scape, a civil engineering company, where I discovered my passion for the field. Since then, I have operated various machines on numerous projects, gaining experience in various areas in civil construction.

Working in a small private company allowed me to become proficient in all aspects of the industry. I pride myself on being an excellent communicator, which is essential for maintaining safety, efficiency, and high staff morale in a team environment.
