I teach three classes comprising a range of students from age 8 to adult. I am responsible for designing my own syllabus and engaging with parents and colleagues.
I provide personal care to dementia patients, write
progress update notes for each patient, and engage with family members and colleagues to ensure patient's individual needs are met.
For the past 2 years during summer break I worked for the University of Otago ID Card Office. This entailed liaising with students, residential colleges and staff to provide photography, printing and related ID card services.
Skill 1 Research and Writing: My English degree and previous debating and mooting experience has taught me how to effectively read and analyse written material, and summarise it in a clear and concise manner
Skill 2 Effective Communicator: As a caregiver and music teacher, I have to engage with parents and family members to address any issues or concerns that they may have This can sometimes involve communicating difficult information, and ensuring that I express things in a sensitive and thoughtful way
