My experience at Event Cinemas in Tauriko fostered strong communication and teamwork skills, particularly during busy periods that demanded full cooperation from the team. I consistently volunteered to extend my shifts to assist during these high-traffic times as the management often struggled finding staff on short notice. Moreover, the role help to build a sense of integrity and self-motivation, as tasks such as cleaning were executed independently and in a timely manner to uphold service standards.

Being a member of the decant team at Kmart required expert team work and communication skills as well as a keen ability to follow managerial instruction. This job involved working in a warehouse opening boxes as fast as possible to ensure all the work for that day was completed efficiently. It was very physical work and therefore required me to stay fit and learn how to stretch before physical activity and lift safely. It also taught me the importance of working as a team and succeeding in a high-pressure environment

This position helped to teach me discipline as i would start my shifts at 5am. This helped me to now feel comfortable starting work well before 9 in the morning as well as understanding the importance of a good nights rest. I also had to develop good communication and time management skills in order to get all the food wrapped and ready for sale before the bakery opened. I also was required to understand perfect hygiene practice so as not to affect the food with any harmful bacteria that may affect the customer.
