Thomas McCabe

Tēnā koe, I am interested in the advertised full-time Lifeguard position at Huia Pool. As someone with a naturally friendly demeanour and a penchant for teamwork, I am attracted to this role by the opportunity to collaborate with others within the Huia Pool team to help deliver exceptional services for our community.

I am born and raised in the Hutt Valley and grew up just around the corner from Huia Pool. As someone who frequented the pool often with my family growing up, I understand the importance of maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for the diverse community that we have here in the Hutt Valley. I have many memories at Huia pool including a birthday party there when I was little.

I have an affinity for sports and wellbeing and enjoy helping others to achieve their goals. I excel at any sport I put my mind to. I have competed at National level in Tennis, Regional level in boxing, and club level at fishing.

I have been working on building sites for the past 4 years and am looking to change in to work that fits better with my passions.

While I don't have any Lifeguard experience, I am a keen and motivated learner and am eager to undergo training and bring my strong work ethic and positive attitude along with me.

• Fishing Trophies (Wellington)- Biggest Snapper, Biggest Non-Scale and Scale Fish and Biggest Land Based Shark.
• Won Gold at the High School National Tennis Champs in 2008.
• Won 12 Wellington Tennis Titles.
