From a young age I have always enjoyed being hands-on and building things ranging from Lego through to ramps and trails in the forest. Whilst at high school, I worked a variety of jobs to save money, ranging from cleaning school vans through to residential window cleaning. My spark for being hands-on, making and fixing things stayed through my high school years taking both metal and wood tech classes through my time at school. After leaving school I have kept the itch to fix things at bay with the purchase of my truck, which has thrown all sorts of challenges at me. This spark for fixing things led me to working in a bike shop but after years of working on bikes the itch to fix things started to want bigger problems on bigger equipment, to scratch this itch I started working at John Deere as a labourer hoping to work my way into the role of an apprenticeship. In my time spent at John Deere I have learnt countless things about the industry and machines, because of this my drive to fix things and learn has only continued to snowball. Having worked in the industry for almost a year I am ready to further my career and knowledge and would like the opportunity to complete a Heavy Diesel Apprenticeship. If I were to be successful in my application I would bring with me experience in yard operations and equipment handling. Proven ability to problem-solve and ensure safety, plus a track record of effective teamwork, reliability, a strong work ethic and adaptability in changing conditions.
