Currently I am self employed as a carpenter in a small town on the South Islands West Coast in NZ, a place where I have grown up and spent my whole life. Leaving school after year 12 and achieving NCEA level 2 I jumped straight into full time work as a Machine Operator at a alluvial gold mine, where I worked for 18 months driving Dump Trucks and Excavators. While I thourougly enjoyed this job and all that it taught me, I knew I needed something more and when offered the chance to start a Carpentry apprenticeship I easily obliged, spending the following 3.5 years learning the trade, 18 months of which with my First Company and then the remaining 2 years and 2.5 years qualified afterwards with Braden Manera Building LTD, I found work as a carpenter very challenging but also rewarding, building houses for clients and making dreams come true is a real passion of mine. I love the wide variety of work and how no matter how much experience you will never stop learning, growing from knowing little to then running jobs and having staff work under me makes me very proud of how much I've achieved and I know how hard I've worked to do so. Before then taking a 6 month career break mid 2023 to travel to various parts of the world, which is something I've always dreamed of doing and want to continue doing so.
Working for myself as a carpenter, completing small jobs including Decks, Fences, Re-roofs, Shed and an extension thus far, Liaising with clients, organising and designing jobs, materials and doing things to or above building code.
