I am a passionate and dependable technician with experience in a wide range of electrical systems. I specialised in Avionics, completing 5 years in the Air Force. I have the ability to draw on and apply knowledge gained throughout my career as an avionics technician, which is the foundation I have since built my current skill set on. I have an engrained attention to detail gained through my Airforce training and take great pride in all work I am involved in. I find joy in solving problems where my electrical and mechanical skills are tested.

Radio Installer

  • Specialise in Tait radio gear
  • Install 25W radio systems into a variety of different vehicles, ranging from taxis to 40 tonne excavators
  • Design, manufacture and install custom circuitry to into a wide range of different vehicles
  • Use power converters, switches and relays to adapt any vehicles DC power system to suit 12V digital radio installations.
  • Use specialist test equipment to diagnose and verify operation of antenna systems
  • Design and manufacture basic circuits and units to test radio installations
  • Draw on knowledge of RF to avoid, or diagnose and rectify interference issues
  • Adapt a process to facilitate the timely, accurate and ascetically pleasing installation of radio systems into customers vehicles
  • Design and complete custom installation solutions so no holes are visible should the radio be removed. This involves custom brackets and vehicle dash removal to find the perfect fit
  • Document installation solutions using photographs and diagrams to ensure the process is repeatable and achievable for other radio installers
  • Travel to remote locations to access vehicles or machinery with radio systems requiring installation or repair
  • Work in an around helicopters while moving portable equipment - safely attach slings to loads and guide slung loads to ground.
