I have a strong passion to excel within the logistics sector. Starting in the industry over 13 years ago whilst still a student, you can see from my work experience and the roles I have held, I thrive in the logistics environment.
I am currently at DGL Mt Wellington branch which is a 3PL warehouse with 25 active customers. The site currently has a capacity of 8290 spaces with capabilities to hold a large variety of hazardous chemicals. I manage a team of 16 fulltime employees.
My job is to oversee the day to day operational / administrative procedures, property maintenance and performance of the site and to achieve high quality customer service. The site is currently a Major Hazard Facility under the HSWA so it is imperative that strict processes are adhered to, and compliance is met.
- Reporting directly to the NZC National Operations Manager, my role was to oversee processes/compliance for the handling and transportation of Dangerous Goods throughout New Zealand.
- Visiting customers with National Sales Representatives to provide insight and education to Dangerous Goods within the NZC network and seek improvement opportunities.
- Assisted with the onboarding of DGM based at the Penrose depot.
- Worked with the Post Haste Group Compliance Manager on the renewal of the Freightways Dangerous Goods Policy and updating it to reference all relevant NZS 5433:2020 / Land Transport Rule 2005 legislation.
- Consulting the NZC National Operations Manager and creating new revenue streams through Dangerous Goods Non-Compliance.
Certifying Dangerous Goods for Air Freight, Sea Freight and Road Freight.
My role involved me visiting customers premises within the Auckland area for the purpose of inspecting then certifying their dangerous goods for both domestic and export. Some of the tasks involved included marking and labelling, repacking, freight inspection and consultation. I also advised customers on the education and training requirements of their staff. Travelling to Wellington & Christchurch operations. I inducted and trained new DGM staff on all aspects of the role.
