Summary

I believe strongly in family-centred care and the development of excellence and care through education and the sharing of knowledge. This relates to both colleagues and the patients in my care. I acknowledge the importance of developing a nurturing environment for new nurses, a challenging and intellectually demanding environment for those more experienced which will hopefully in turn produce enthusiastic nurses who care for one another as well as for the families placed in their care. I aim to be able to evaluate and embrace when professionally applicable, new philosophies and practices that international research in the field of Neonatology conclude as relevant and valuable to practice. I know that I have personally and professionally grown in experience and knowledge. I see myself as an expert nurse clinician. Someone who is always willing to go that extra mile, and who is never too busy to teach, coach and support. I am a conscientious, organised and motivated person who has excellent communication skills.
