I am an experienced Youth Worker who has progressed into a managerial role, bringing over 12 years of experience supporting and empowering young people from diverse backgrounds. I have a strong passion for working with trauma-informed youth and those on the autism spectrum, and I am committed to creating safe, structured, and nurturing environments where young people can develop resilience, confidence, and life skills. Throughout my career, I have gained extensive expertise in therapeutic practice, restorative approaches, behaviour management, de-escalation, program planning, and social skills facilitation. I have successfully managed residential programs, led teams of youth workers, and facilitated the professional growth of colleagues through mentoring and appraisals. My experience has allowed me to combine practical, hands-on support with strategic leadership to achieve positive outcomes for both youth and staff. I pride myself on my ability to build strong, trusting relationships with young people, fostering an environment where they feel heard, supported, and motivated to achieve their personal goals. I am also committed to continuous learning and professional development, constantly seeking opportunities to improve my skills and knowledge to better support young people and contribute to the success of the organisation. My goal is to make a meaningful difference in the lives of youth, guiding them to reach their full potential while maintaining high standards of care, safety, and wellbeing.
