I Sanjay Goundar born in Fiji 1980 moved to NZ in 2005 as trade qualified heavy diesel mechanic. I have 20 plus year of experience in light and heavy industry rounding from Fiji and Nz around time being able to get my citizenship in NZ. I have worked on Cars, Trucks, Buses, Forklift, Digger, Loader and Farm Machinery. I have worked as a floor technician for around 17 years and know my ways around the tools. By this a I have gained a lot of skill and built my way up now have knowledge on machinery’s. I have built multiple engines and transmission and also hydrostatic system. i have been in the Forklift industry for most of my career working on all Battery's, LPG, Diesel Forklifts. With this knowledge i am confident with troubleshooting hydraulic lines, control valves and solenoids also good experience in troubleshotting engine faults. Have experience using a laptop to plugs into the machines to read error codes and see the parameters and then calibrate the unit.
To manage the staff & contractors responsible for maintenance & repairs of the Company’s
Auckland based Hire & Lease Forklift-Machinery Fleet and control daily Service Department
operations through ensuring our policies, procedures and customer service standards are consistently
met.This role is responsible for the management of the daily Auckland Forklift-Machinery service
operations and organization and all contracts and compliance documentation. Prime focus is
placed on efficient utilization & leadership of the technical staff and workshop resources while
maintaining a safe and productive work environment. Ensuring proper maintenance of all hire / lease
assets to meet all OH&S requirements as required.
Key Responsibilities:
To manage all directly supervised staff to ensure company standards and policies are maintained
and that the following duties are completed consistently and on time:
• Ensure customer expectations are always met or exceeded.
• Ensuring Forecast Repair Times (FRT’s) are met by technical staff.
• Implementing and monitoring Health & Safety policies within workshop operations.
• Handling customer complaints or concerns quickly and professionally to maintain good
customer relationships and ensure repeat customers.
• To be an integral part of the purchase order process and project deadlines.
• Maintain and monitor WIP and ensure jobs are closed and correctly invoiced, including labor
and consumed parts.
• Ensuring workshop systems and policies are consistently used and followed at all times.
• Ensuring that all staff understand and adhere to the ‘Principals Of Success” associated to their
roles.
• Ensuring service requests from customers for breakdowns on external and internally
maintained lease equipment are followed through with promptly.
• Manage Service Coordinator to proactively book in service work for external and internal
customer fleets.
• Updating service methods to improve overall efficiency.
• Effective management of Workshop team including regular one-on-ones, leave management and by timely submission of timesheets to payroll.
• Ensuring that the quotation process is followed and all quotes are provided to customers
within 48 hours.
• Check that supplier invoices are in order and processed promptly for payment.
• Reporting on key performance indicators to management and customers.
• Handling customer complaints or concerns quickly and professionally to maintain good
customer relationships and ensure repeat customers.
• Maintaining a strong working knowledge of industry regulations, restrictions, and laws,
ensuring the company's adherence to these regulations, and remaining current on the
industry's standards.
• At lease-end, ensure each machine is inspected for customer damage and excess hours and
that the customer is charged as appropriate within 7 days of the hire end date.
• Ensuring that all NEW equipment being leased or sold is inspected for quality control prior to
being delivered to customers.
• Make recommendations as to the addition or removal of units from the rental fleet.
