Will Pooch
I am a year 12 student at Cashmere High with strong leadership, communication and adaptability. At Cashmere I lead my hockey team as the captain and in my spare time I volunteer to coach a junior hockey team. I babysit for my neighbour regularly and I am a proficient umpire. I have a positive attitude and a very strong work ethic.
Work History
Hockey Coach
Since 2025 I have volunteered to coach a year 7-8 boys team for the Southern United Hockey Club.
When Coaching I:
- Plan practices based on my team's performance and what their work-on's and strengths are.
- Communicate with the parents on the team consistently and on time.
- Teach high level skills to year 7-8 boys.
- Focus on keeping the game fun as the first priority especially at such a young age.
Babysitter
Since 2025 I have regularly babysat my neighbors two children aged 8 and 12.
When babysitting I:
- Responsibly supervise young children and ensure that they stay safe.
- Play with the kids and make sure they have fun.
- Keep consistent daily routines by staying consistent with bedtimes and eating times.
Hockey Umpire
Since 2023 I have been an Independent Hockey Umpire. I umpire for multiple clubs, umpiring some of their rostered games from Canterbury Hockey. I cover 1-2 games each week during the season on a freelance basis.
During my Umpiring I:
- I manage player misconduct by addressing them assertively as they are often much older than me.
- I maintain a fair playing field by not being biased to one side.
