I have developed an ability to adapt my behavior and communication throughout my career. I am able to listen to the customer who dealing with their own personal issues that they bring to the shop. I am solutions focused and willing to work alongside people to find a solutions to meet both my employee needs and the customers. I achieve this by gathering facts and information, considering all options available, presenting the facts and consequences back to the customer and discussing the options. I am aware of the need to remain calm and polite at all the times to avoid exacerbating any difficult situation. I maintain my calm demeanor by listing, avoiding arguing and reflecting back the situation to the customer. I am aware that upset people are generally angry because they don’t feel heard and understood. By listening and letting them know I have heard them I am able to be escalate the situation. I am able to remain cal and patient while having difficult conversations with customers . I do this through listening and reflecting back consequences of actions.

Technical Knowledge

Whilst studying and working, I had to abide by strict rules and regulations around customer service, employee needs, Managers and finance etc. This involved working one on one with clients, assessing their needs, planning and managing their needs.

Teamwork

Teamwork is strength of mine. I always belonged to sports team from an early age and often had the privilege of supporting others. I consider it is important that, although we know the rules and boundaries in which we have to work, we still have choices on how we train, motivate and fundraise together. I consider it important to let others have say in how things are done. It is also important to allow people to say in how they want to achieve their goals. Between my sports and employment , I became aware of the power of intrinsic motivation. Extrinsic factors contribute to motivation however intrinsic motivation is powerful. As previously mentioned I have always worked closely with the Managers, Business representatives and the staff members, This role highlighted the importance of sharing my skills and mentoring others.

Responsiveness

I am also aware that Department has a pacific client, which focusing on assisting the pacific island people in prison, I have good understanding of a lot of cultures not only in NZ but also in India where I came from.

Integrity

Being brought up in a very respected and disciplined family. Integrity is a major discipline taught to us. For the integrity means respect, role model doing the right things and being honest. I can boost myself to follow all the four principles in my life. I would not allow anyone to breach the integrity and if someone did, I always escalate this to the senior management. Integrity is something that earns in the pride and self respect.
