I'm Yusuf, an enterprising individual whose entrepreneurial journey began at age 8 with a lemonade stand. Coming from a culinary family with my father being a master chef in Turkey, our move to New Zealand led to the establishment of a family kebab business in Katikati. Immersed in this environment, I developed skills in cooking, customer service, management, and marketing from a young age.
My passion for aviation started when I was 6-7 years old, living in Turkey. Our apartment had a clear view of planes landing and taking off from an airport 15 km away. This sparked my interest in aviation, which deepened when I flew for the first time at age 8, moving to New Zealand. Since then, I have aimed to become a pilot, leading me to spend over 600 hours on flight simulators like X-Plane 11 and P3D, along with a few real cockpit experiences.
I officially started working in hospitality at 13 while balancing my academic pursuits. My entrepreneurial spirit flourished early with ventures into dropshipping at 12, t-shirt printing at 15, and e-commerce at 17. Despite leaving high school in year 12, I pursued practical online IT courses, gaining valuable skills in web design and digital marketing.
At 18, I transitioned from e-commerce to manage my father's restaurant in Waihi Beach, applying my diverse skill set to a brick-and-mortar business. My journey is defined by continuous learning, resilience, and a commitment to growth. I'm always open to connecting with like-minded individuals for insights and new opportunities
In my current dual role at Lucca Bistro, where Italian cuisine meets fine dining, I navigate the realms of management and barista duties. Despite my youthful age of 18, I bring enthusiasm and dedication to overseeing diverse aspects of the restaurant, shaping a harmonious experience for both guests and the team.
