Summary

I am motivated and caring beginning teacher passionate about supporting ākonga to reach their potential. I bring over 15 years of rugby experience, four years of coaching, and classroom teaching placements, where I developed skills in planning, behavior management, and culturally responsive practice. I value collaboration with colleagues, whānau, and communities to create inclusive learning environments, and I aim to inspire students through sport, creativity and positive relationships. My why I want to be a teacher is because learning has always been the centre of my journey as an international student. Every day I enjoy finding ways to learn and grow myself. School is the best place for this, because I can learn from colleagues and also from students. I am very passionate about sports, and coaching rugby gave me the chance to see students grow as players and as a human being. That experience showed me how powerful teaching can be. I want to bring the same energy and belief into the classroom, helping students learn and grow in their own journeys.
