I’m a young hard working teenager that left school to work and learn things about trades to expand my knowledge and hopefully get an apprenticeship in an electrical trade. I train hard at the gym and at sport and I don’t let it affect me at work in any negative way.
I started work at JM Tyres in late July, knowing almost nothing about tyres, but now I know how to fully change a tyre including balancing it and aligning the vehicle afterward. This job has expanded my knowledge especially around cars and wheels/tyres. I got a job here as the owner is my girlfriend’s step father. It’s only temporary work as his main worker broke his thumb in a busy work period.
I am a casual employee at Kea electric, as of August 2025. My brother Jordon Sharratt, is the owner and founder of kea electric and has me employed as a labourer to help out with any digging, tool fetching, ground work etc. I like working around him in the powerlines environment as I one day hope to be a line mechanic too, or something in the electrical industry.
I gained a job at Foodstuffs through an advert at school targeting 16 year olds looking for part time shift work. I started in April and got my pump truck licence along with the experience of working in a fast paced environment. I left in August as I had a busy schedule with two sports. canoe polo and hockey. I also struggled to juggle all of it along with school.
I got a job at Scafit through a family friend who offered me temporary contract work there so I could get some money and work experience over the Christmas school holidays. I would empty and fill metal containers of gear and equipment that qualified scaffolders needed for their work sites. I would also occasionally use tiedowns to secure heavy loads on trucks and sometimes aid others in unloading the trucks.
Part time job while I was a year nine at Palmerston North boys high school. This job consisted of labelling food products, making packaging and cardboard cut outs, and occasional organisation of warehouse goods.
My skills, I believe I possess a great set of skills for a work environment I have my full licence, I’m always early or on time, I learn quickly, get along well with others and my life doesn’t revolve around work I love to play sport, specifically canoe polo I’ve had a strong connection to the sport for almost two years I’ve represented New Zealand in Australia playing as a goalie in NZ’s U18B’s team My next goal is to go to Denmark in 2028 and play world games as the U21’s paddle-blacks goalie
