I am currently working at Barnardos Early Learning Centre as an unregistered Kaiako while studying to become registered. I have just finished my first year of study and absolutely love it! It is such a rewarding job, and I love working with the tamariki, whānau, and kaiako there.
I really enjoyed this job as I got to go around Gisborne cleaning up the gardens, which was very rewarding and satisfying.
I learnt how to use the different tools and how to generally maintain the different gardens and plants.
- Ensured cleanliness and sanitation by washing dishes, utensils, and equipment.
- Maintained a well-organised work area by cleaning surfaces and organising supplies.
- Supported chefs in food preparation tasks such as chopping ingredients, peeling vegetables, and marinating meats.
