Children's Surgical Ward, B7.

• 24-bed surgical ward from 0-16 years, covering all aspects of surgical care pre- and post-op, in addition to children with cystic fibrosis and bronchiectasis.
• Collaborating with a wide-ranging, multidisciplinary team from all specialties and services, including physios, occupational therapists, district nurses, and adult sub-specialties.
• Caring for overflow, in addition to working within other pediatric wards as required, including medical, oncology/haematology, children's high care (critical care unit/ICU stepdown), and children's emergency department.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients.
• Ongoing education to further nursing practice, including study days and clinical emergency simulations.

• Working alongside registered nurse and pharmacist health assessors to provide pre-employment health assessments.
• Responsibilities involved drug/alcohol screening, audiometry, spirometry, vision testing, musculoskeletal assessments, and documenting physical capacities of the candidates to potential employers.

• Customer service roles, interacting with customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Assisting with training new staff members. ordering stock, and supervising departments.
