  • Carrying out advanced diagnostics on vehicles, utilizing manufactuors service information, wiring schematics, OEM and current model aftermarket diagnostic equipment including Launch scantools and Picoscope, on primarily our main brand Toyota, but also including Holden, and new-coming brands Hyundai and MG.
  • Overseeing daily workshop production and managing technician output and efficiency.
  • Allocating and distributing work orders and tasks to staff, ensuring customer pickup times are adhered to.
  • Providing technical advice to customers, technicians and non- technical staff..
  • Carrying out technician quality control.
  • Providing in-house technical training, mentoring and positive role modelling to technicians/apprentices.
  • Attending new product/model training
  • Monitoring of, and briefing staff on all current model Technical service bulletins, campaigns and warranty special coverages.
  • Completing, reviewing, quality controlling and providing labour rate times on work orders for invoicing and warranty administration.
  • Coordinating work and tasks with other internal departments and external workshops.
  • Holding toolbox meetings.
  • Monitoring of and performance reviewing workshop staff.
  • Membership in the GWD health and safety committee, attending meetings, briefing branch staff on meeting content, ensuring H&S policy is met to regulatory and company standards. SOPs are adhered to, including accident/near miss reporting, and designing practical and compliant new SOPs in the event of a near-miss or incident.

  • Carrying out full vehicle repairs in accordance with regulatory laws and manufacturers specifications.
  • Carrying out warrant of fitness inspections (NZ regulatory road worthiness inspection) in accordance with Waka Kotahi (NZ Land Transport Authority).
  • Carrying out major engine repairs on vehicles including removing/replacing cylinder heads, replacing short blocks, pistons, connecting rods, Main and Big-end Bearings, reassembling and confirming complete repair.
  • Carrying out major driveline system repairs, including disassembling and inspecting manual transmissions, and repairing/replacing damaged components.
  • Carrying out diagnostics, both mechanically and electronically on any and all vehicle systems, including but not limited to Engine control, Transmission control, ABS, Airbag SRS, Body Control, Suspension, Data Communications and all various safety systems.
  • Carrying out accessory fitting eg. bullbars, towbars, UHF radios, stereos, and most types of lamping in accordance with local regulations.
  • Adhering to and complying with all regulatory and company health and safety regulations.
  • Cross trained in other brands we sell and service, specifically Holden being the most prominent until the brand closed.
