Canaan Giavani Morehu

Paengaroa

Summary

He uri nō Ngāti Pikiao, Ngāti Whakaue, Ngāti Tūwharetoa, me Ngāti Kahu. Ko Canaan Giavani Morehu tōku ingoa. At 23 years old, I am clear about the path I wish to walk - toward a Bachelor of Social Work and a career grounded in service, equity, and transformation. With a strong foundation in iwi and Māori organisations, education, and leadership, I bring proven skills in programme coordination, hui facilitation, relationship building, and Te Ao Māori health frameworks. My experience spans youth engagement, whānau advocacy, community collaboration, and leadership across diverse kaupapa. I am committed to improving systems, strengthening whānau relationships, and empowering the people of Aotearoa to reach their full potential. I am a passionate advocate for rangatahi and whānau, guided by the principles of aroha, manaakitanga, and restorative justice. My mahi is rooted in Te Ao Māori and driven by the belief that every individual deserves the opportunity to thrive. Within my first 6 months at Poutiri I increased whānau engagement by over 25%, improved our processes, and streamlined workflow.
