Kia ora my name is Darnell Walting I was born and raised in a little town of Kaikohe and Ohaeawai. I moved to the Ruapehu District in 2005 for work experience and a life change. This is where my life as a Kaiako started. I love and I am passionate about tamariki. The way they learn and the way they are reminds me of all the fun things you could do as a child growing up, the lessons you learn and the challenges you are faced with reminds me of the unhurried times that we had to discover things that inspired me.
As you see I am a fully registered and Qualified Teacher with a heart of gold and a passion for children and a desire to aspire them as unique beings. I love to challenge and set myself goals to accomplish the timely things we do to share with whanau and iwi.
I like to set new challenges for myself and my colleagues to show my potential and willingness to learn and to take on responsiblities to meet team goals and aspirations.
Having the ability to communicate with whanau, iwi, kaiako and children is an important skill to have to allow you to learn, understand and grow with and alongside your whanau and team.
I am enthusistic and willing to learn, I work smart with my work colleagues. I am able to negotiate, organise, contribute to team planning and assesments and always looking for new ideas and challenges to keep motivated and to grow into a leadership role for the future.
I am passionate to be a great role model for whom I may inspire.
