  • Wanting to venture into a more future proof and reliable employment I found my self as a Boat builder/labourer for Voodoo Yachts and have since developed and obtained skills such as.
  • Worked under guidance of experienced professionals to learn trade best practices and techniques.

Tank Farm Operator

  • My roles in this position are to load and unload bulk tanker truck vessels, decant bulk liquid bladders out of sea containers and preform a number of confine space entry's and heights work as well as operate forklifts, petrol and air pumps
  • A great deal of my work is physical, handling drums IBC's and flexi hose's for setting up and breaking down pump stations as well as working with live steam and nitrogen for clean and clear lines
  • I also manage the Health and safety in my area as I am the nominated rep
  • In this role I have learnt how to operate bulk pumps, inspect and devan containers, control the movement of products between silos and safely operate nitrogen and steam as well as compressed air.
  • Maintained and repaired various farming equipment.

Doctor Cuts Detail Shop

  • After running my own detailing business, I quickly developed a name for myself in which Wayne from Doctor cuts approached me to assist him in his high work volume
  • After a few short weeks it became apparent my skill set and proficiency in this area were greatly beneficial into which I was offered a full time role
  • In the time I have been working here I have furthered my skills in not only detailing vehicles, boats and other machinery but especially increased my customer relation skills by dealing face to face with clients and potential customers, booking and quoting jobs and also honing my skills as a salesman by up selling packages and services
  • Other skills I have obtained in this role is the basics of working with PPF, Paint protection film and a wide range of mechanical tasks from repairing old and damaged car parts for clients when we do restorations, to fabricating and making fixes for irreplaceable parts
  • One of the key experiences I have gathered here is the ability to manage and run the shop when required, directing workflow, job priority and handling customer relations and any issues should there be any.

  • My roles in this position are to mix and run out all sorts of sausages ranging from pre-cooks to gourmet kranskys and chorizos, amongst running sausages I produce a lot of bulk orders for Maketu pies, Pats pantry, Raymond's Pies and supplying all of the hell's pizza and Turkish to go's in the north island
  • In this role I have also learnt how to net hams roll them and place on racks for smoking as well as pump hams, bacon hocks with brine whilst operating the conveyor pump.

  • I was also promoted to pastry team leader and worked as a mixer mixing the pastry and fillings for the desserts.
