I have been working at Rangiora New World for two and a half years and am now looking for a new opportunity closer to university. Alongside this role, my experience as a stable hand and as a horse owner has helped me develop key skills such as problem-solving, independence, responsibility, and reliability. I hold a full driver’s license and am confident in adapting to new tasks and working in different environments.
During my time working at Rangiora New World, I gained experience in customer service and retail operations. I was trained as a checkout operator, the Lotto terminal, and cafe where I developed strong skills in cash handling, scanning, and operating the till. I worked both independently and as part of a team, collaborating effectively with colleagues and serving a range of customers. My role helped me strengthen my problem-solving abilities and taught me the importance of providing friendly, efficient service.
I’ve worked with Tarryn, a well-known equestrian across Canterbury, helping her with horse training and day-to-day jobs. With horses constantly coming and going from her property, I’ve learned to adapt quickly and handle change with ease. I’ve had the opportunity to support the growth of her business by taking on a range of responsibilities, including bringing horses in from the paddock, tacking up, mucking out, and preparing horses for shows.
