I have a Master's in Script Writing from the International Institute of Modern Letters and am skilled in script analysis and creative storytelling. Through this and my degree in English I have gained expertise in report writing. I have a lot of experience in workshopping and can lead collaborative discussions with a critical perspective. I have also had experience organising events and navigating social media.
This year I have been completing my Masters in Script writing, with the International Institute of Modern Letters. My lecturer was Ken Duncum, a successful New Zealand play write. I have learnt to apply critical thinking to not only my own scripts but the scripts of others. I have completed reports for various scripts and am able to determine the things in a script that work. This course has given me excellent interpersonal communication skills as the course on a whole is very collaborative. Every week we talk amongst ourselves about each others work and each individual scripts way forward.
I edited a Thesis for a Masters student. This required a lot of close reading and critical thinking skills. I taught the student to reduce her word count and summarise her ideas.
During my Masters course this year, I went up to Auckland to observe the of rehearsals for 'Mary Shelly, The Birth of Frankenstein'. I met many people working on the production side of things and witnessed the organisers process to put on such a play. I had to demonstrate collaborative and communication skills needed for the industry in order to learn from the experience.
I guided visitors through the gallery and informed them on the current exhibitions.
While at Blue Oyster, I helped with organising gallery events. This included, catering, overseeing visitors, helping artists with installation and helping to put on opening nights.
