  • Oversaw an increase in books being issued. In 2014, the library issued 3,500 items. In 2023, it was 11,292 items.
  • Migrated the library management system from Athenaeum to Accessit. I have worked with Accessit for 17 years.
  • Introduced various digital databases including Infobase, Massolit, JSTOR, Newsbank, The Day and PressReader.
  • Expanded the e-book and e-audio collection.
  • Organized Literacy Week. A week of author visits to classes, lunchtime events such as Lit quiz, dress up as your favorite book character, and other competitions and general fun.
  • Sourced materials that met current needs, drove curiosity, and supported learning.
  • Helped with the English department to introduce a junior reading program called Accelerated Reader.
  • Used physical books, internal databases, and online resources to help patrons with diverse questions.
  • Compiled circulation statistics and drafted an annual library report for the Deputy Head of Pedagogy.
  • Maintained key library documents, such as the Collection Development Policy, Cataloguing Standards, and Library Policy and Procedures manual.

Accomplishments

In 2015 with the introduction of Accessit (LMS), our issues rate increased by 134%.

In 2020 we purchased PressReader. Over 5,000 magazines and newspapers were accessed at a cost of $0.97 per item.

JSTOR last year provided 4,000 academic papers and articles at a cost of $0.40 per item.
