Jordy Galyer

Originally hail from the Wairarapa where I have spent most of my life. I was luckily enough to gain and complete a cadetship at Smedley Station. After completing a New Zealand Certificate in Agriculture both Level 3 and 4 while at Smedley. I then gained employment at White Rock Station. I was a full time casual at Otairaia and Ngatahi in Southern Wairarapa until I went cattle mustering and buffalo catching in Northern Territory, Australia.

The learning, knowledge, education and life experiences that I have taken away after all my previous employments has gained me alot of professional contacts and set me up for the future in the farming industry, which I am highly grateful for.

Goals is something that I truly believe in and is something I'm very driven about. I have been described as honest, trustworthy, punctual, reliable and someone who not only sets a high standard for himself but also his peers around him, I believe this is backed up by my worth ethic, morals and willingness to learn.

I have high aspirations for myself and the goals that I have set, hard work isn't something that I am afraid of, to achieve them. I have an opened mind set and always willing to listen and learn more knowledge and skills. Stepping up into a leadership role is something that really sticks out to me. I want to climb the ranks in the farming industry respectively and want to pass my knowledge on to other people just like previous employers have done for me.

Hobbies is something that I believe everyone needs especially in the farming industry because it is important to have a balance with both work and social life because we can become isolated at times living so far away from friends and family.

I am unable to play rugby anymore due to an injury but is something that I am still passionate about and still follow and help out with at my Martinborough Rugby Club. This is a great way to meet new people and get involved within the community.

Hunting, fishing and diving is something that I love and usually spend most of my time off farm doing when not following rugby.

Im also a very family orientated person. I would like to see myself as an asset to any future employer.
