Executive Summary:

Tāhūrangi is a newly improved website, built in collaboration with Evaluation Associates and the Ministry of Education, to provide free curriculum content, teaching materials and news to educators across New Zealand. Tāhūrangi has been built for the purpose of existing as a user-friendly, accessible, up to date education portal to provide schools and educators across the country with information, resources, materials, and guides to enhance quality of teaching and improve student learning.

Project Background:

Tāhūrangi has been built by our team to replace Te Kete Ipurangi (TKI) as an updated collection and support network for New Zealand education. Tāhūrangi consists of three sectors that support different areas and levels of learning.

  • Early Childhood Education – Te Whāriki Online
  • Reo Māori Learning – Te Marautanga o Aotearoa
  • New Zealand Curriculum – New Zealand Curriculum Online

While TKI served as the online portal for more than 20 years, Tāhūrangi preserves and improves user experience by both transporting content from the original TKI website, and building onto content by bringing in new up-to-date materials that supports the modern educator and learner. With support from the Ministry of Education and Evaluation associates, Tāhūrangi has been built with curriculum-based content that supports the highest and most up-to-date standard of Education in New Zealand.
