Working in all aspects of residential construction, from small renovations and home maintenance to large extensions and new builds from the ground up. From this work I have learned good skills working on villas and heritage houses developing a keen eye for detail and an ability to seamlessly transition old to new. At the stage I am in my apprenticeship I am competent at reading drawings and working unsupervised. I have invested in quality tools and am always interested in finding ways to do things as efficiently as possible. As a builder I am aware of the balance between finding smarter ways to do things and just rolling the sleeves up and just getting stuck in. For me, building is a great career I enjoy and would love to learn more and further develop my skills and be in a role to earn better opportunities for myself.

Before carpentry, I was a painter working on new builds for residential contractors and independent work on houses doing repaints and providing fresh new looks peoples property. Throughout my time as a painter I have developed keen skills for detail orientation and steady hands. Along with physical skills, the nature of this work has helped me develop good communication skills with co workers and also clients. Being a painter before building has given me a good understanding of the construction industry and tradesmen’s quality of work.
