Mariah Mercer

I am a dedicated, empathic and compassionate Social Work Student who is passionate about making positive change in peoples lives. My journey into social work is grounded in my strong belief in the power of advocating for those who may not be able to advocate for themselves. What I bring to social work is empathy, resilience, and my desire to learn and grow. I am especially passionate about working with Children and youth who need that extra support to reach their full potentials. What makes me an amazing social work student is my strong sense of purpose, How I am constantly willing to critically reflect on my practice, and that I am committed to continuous learning. I am always open for feedback on how I can improve and value it as a tool for personal and professional growth. I knew I wanted to be a Social Worker the moment I found out what a social worker was and aim to embody the core values of Social work in everything I do.
