- Company Overview: Founded in 2021 and based in Glen Innes, Tāmaki Makaurau, TUMG is focused on regeneration, education, and innovation, working with nature to regenerate soil health, rebuild biodiversity and mitigate climate change. We are committed to supporting regenerative gardening initiatives, building connections with our local community and are an active part of the growing regenerative horticulture movement in Aotearoa. We are currently involved with a program connecting and supporting regenerative growing projects in Tamaki Makaurau.
- Contribute to and share responsibility for the day-to-day practical running of the farm. This includes physical labour and planning for growing seasons to sustain harvests for weekly subscribers.
- Collaborate with the other farmer, vision holder, and volunteers to support the ongoing development of TUMG into a financially sustainable enterprise that continues to support paid farmers.
- Help to scope and execute food resilience initiatives that align with Te Ao Māori and regenerative horticulture.
- Support the planning and management of all aspects of production including but not limited to; sowing, developing greenhouse propagation, transplanting, feeding programmes, harvest, post-harvest processing, crop planning, weeding etc.
- Help grow the CSA from the current 10-12 subscribers to 15-20 producing and processing locally produced nutrient-dense, waste-free food on a weekly basis.
- Manage the compost hub for use on site, sourcing carbon materials as required.
- Collate data for reporting and statistics.
- Help arrange farm deliveries such as mulch and compost as well as sourcing seedlings when appropriate.
- Help support and lead volunteers on site.
- Deal with public enquiries on-site and refer them to team members where appropriate.

- 5 paid hours per week with the opportunity to increase hours as the need requires. Some additional voluntary hours may be required.
- Hours can be worked split between Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, with some scope for negotiation. Must be available during school holidays.
- As a Living Wage accredited organisation the rate is $27.80 (due to rise on 1 September to $28.95).
- Experience in regenerative horticulture or permaculture methods would be preferable and/or a willingness to learn.
- Confidence to work respectfully and effectively with diverse groups of people.
- Leading and adhering to health & safety practices for self and volunteer groups.
- Confident to work as part of a team as well as self-directed.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- A flexible, easy-going manner and a willingness to get stuck in and ideally, an understanding of, and commitment to, Te Tiriti ō Waitangi & Mātauranga Māori.
